5 Proven Plateau Busting Strategies for Rapid Fat Burning and Great Definition

The beginning stages of a fat loss plan can deliver some progress even without an appropriate strategy.  However after the first 5 to 10 pounds of body fat loss progress begins to slow down for many reasons as the body adapts to the program in place.  Keep in mind that the human body is a survival machine and will prioritize storing body fat over looking good.  You must send the right signals on a consistent basis to earn and maintain a low body fat level with great definition.

The wrong training and nutrition strategies not only kill progress, but lead to muscle wasting and a rebounding of body fat accumulation by making the metabolism and hormonal environment sluggish. 

Eating the same amount of calories 7 days per week will lead to metabolic and homeostatic sluggishness.  Now does this mean you should eat whatever you want a couple times per week to shift the calories?  NO! Wasting Your Time with Steady State Cardio

Excessive steady state cardio can teach the body store fat, increase fat storing hormones and waste hard earned muscle.  In some cases moderate amounts of steady state cardio activity can work well for obese people.  Everyone else should be performing intervals to maximize their rate of fat burning with a variety of venues and strategies.

Your Weight Training Routine is Stale

Picking Your Weight Loads Wisely to Get The Most out of Every Set!

Over the course of a 6 week customized training block we expect clients to gradually increase weight loads throughout the program while maintaining proper form, prescribed rep tempos (speed of each rep) and accurate rest periods.  Fat Burning elevates through several pathways when each subsequent training session out performs the one prior.  Improvements in weight load, and other strategic changes over the 6 week training block also provide fresh stimuli to prevent plateaus.

Repetition Brackets to Determine the Right Load Every Time!

(6-8) listed in the repetition column means that if you get 8 reps with proper rep speed and form that you should move up in weight load 2.5 to 5 pounds for the next work set pending the exercise.  If you execute 6 or 7 reps keep the weight load the same for the next set, however if you were to get less than 6 reps this would indicate that you should move down in load for the following set.

Tempo (speed of rep)

The repetition component lengths will be designated by a number of seconds. Many of the programs require a tempo of 3-2-1-1. The following order will be a uniform pattern eccentric- isometric-concentric-reset point.

 For example a 3-2-1-0 bench press would be

 3 sec from the top to reach the chest

2 sec pause on bottom

1 sec to lift the weight

0 pause at top

A pulling exercise would have a different scheme using the same tempo system

A lat pull down with a 4-2-1-2 tempo would require

4 sec to go from the chest to the top of the movement where arms are outstretched

2 sec pause at top of the movement

1 sec to bring the bar down to the chest

2 sec pause at the chest pulling the bar into the torso

Adjusting to new tempos is perhaps one of the most difficult parameters to implement, however it is a key to your success.  I strongly suggest using a stop watch while training to not only measure the time between sets, but also to evaluate how long each set will last.  For example a tempo of 3-2-1-1 equals 7 seconds per rep multiplied by 6 reps would be 42 sec.  If the duration of your sets is 20 sec, there is a problem!  At times you will have to lower the weights to accommodate the proper tempo and form.  This is ok!  Do not be alarmed as over time the proper execution of the tempos will result in significant increases of strength.

Training Quality over Quantity for Rapid Fat Burning

I wish I had a penny for every time someone told me they were just going to eat “clean” to lose body fat.  There is much more to the success equation.  The amount of food, protein, dietary fat and carbohydrate ratios, food combinations, timing and more must all be manipulated to accelerate the burning of stored fat as fuel.  Our nutrition plans are so advanced that they are simple to execute!  You cannot eat the same foods all of the time and rely only on lowering calories to consistently lose body fat!

Be Patient and Good Progress Will Be Earned!

Keep in mind that it takes time to earn the body of your dreams and for most people the entire mission cannot be accomplished in only 30 days.  Your body fat problems did not transpire overnight, so they will resolve instantly either!  You can earn much faster progress during months 2 and 3 of a properly designed plan in comparison to month 1 as it takes time to build metabolic and hormonal momentum!

How consistently are you executing your program?

5 days out of 7 you are perfect with diet and let it slide on the weekends?   That will not be good enough for rapid fat loss.  Keep in mind that losing 10-20 pounds of body fat in 30 days or less is not an easy task and requires a great effort.  However when losing body fat the right way by optimizing metabolism and hormone levels – you will not suffer a rebound of body fat accumulation like 99% of people.
